I really wanted to do a warm background so Carrie whipped up for me the coolest red ticking cover that we used almost like a wallpaper. But we put it in place with red headed push pins. I could not be happier! It was just what I had envisioned. It set the perfect backdrop. One of our fabulous artists, Genevieve Allen, brought us some new works this week and one jumped right out at me. It had a creamy white swath in it. In our vintage excursions our last Hawthorne stay, we found the most lovely creamy white milk glass collection. The new painting would be perfect saddled up next to the grouping. I wanted the vignette to be warm and cozy. Heather got the tree up and did her magic with lights, vintage mercury glass ornaments, WK red gift cards and white ‘Happy Holidays’ gift tags tied on with a preppy ribbon. The mix is one we have used before and I quite love it. Lots going on, but not visually busy. Then we just layered and layered favorite things.
