Diptyque’s early perfumes were famously built around the idea of place. Do Son was pulled from the memory of Yves Couselant, one of Diptyque’s founders, who spent his childhood in Vietnam. At the Haiphong market, tuberoses are wrapped together with jasmine and ylang-ylang in large canna leaves to be used as offerings. This fragrance is the memory of these flowers, and of childhood.
